Purple Diamond Elite (PDE) Performing Arts Program was formed in 2018 under the leadership of Young-Educated-Determined to Succeed Inc (YEDS). The PDE program was implemented to provide youth who reside in the Greater Hartford Area the opportunity to engage in performing arts year-round.  PDE program provides youth with a safe environment that teaches youth the importance of movement through structured choreography, dance technique, drumming skills & community service while focusing on teamwork, creativity, mental health, and fitness.

The performing arts program offers valuable life skills that can be applied to various life pursuits.  PDE youth are taught the importance of movement through structured choreography, dance technique, drumming skills & community service while focusing on teamwork, creativity, mental health, and fitness. The PDE performing arts program offers valuable life skills such as discipline, confidence, and self-image. Youth participate in weekly workouts and learn/create different choreographed dance and drumline techniques which enables their creative thinking skills while developing lifelong friendships and giving back to their community.

Although youth find dancing fun and entertaining, research shows dancing is great for encouraging healthy brain development, improving one's mental health, maximizes heart health,  strengthens muscles, balance, coordination, and reduces depression. Click here for information.
